“-Ish” because let’s be honest: writers have to be about a million extra things before we get to the being-a-writer part. Like being a researcher. A strategist. Investigator. Spreadsheet creator. Note-taker. Designer (poorly, in Figma, fwiw). We draft. We rewrite. We roll with the punches when the brief changes. We come up with a few really solid, distinct directions … and get clever about weaving them together when we need to.

It’s the name of the game! This figurative wearing-of-the-hats is how I approach every job, whether that’s untangling a complex narrative or just getting someone to click the thing.

Storytelling is an art. We all have a part — or a few — to play in it.
